A Few Mid-Week Things from Lincoln School

The John Hall Elementary Track Meet

The correct time for the track meet this Friday, is 11:30am until around 2:45pm at SJHS.  We have not been able to have the track meet in awhile so here is a description in case you are not familiar.

Third, fourth and fifth graders from all 3 elementary schools participate in the track meet.  The students stay in their classes and rotate through a series of stations that include a variety of track and field events.  Each class also has a relay team that consists of 4 boys and a team of 4 girls.  The relay races are the last events and all the rest of the students, staff and spectators cheer them on from the stands.

It is a wonderful day outside and when the kids return to Lincoln we hand out popsicles to all the students.  This track meet has been in place for decades and is one of the many things that elementary students look forward to each year.

Dress Code
As the weather gets warmer, please remember that midriff shirts (those that do not cover the belly) are not allowed.  Also, please be aware of shorts and the length. Students who are not dressed appropriately will be asked to put on a Lincoln t-shirt for the day. Thank you for your cooperation.

News from the Lincoln Media Center

What a fantastic year it has been in our school library! We are so proud of all of the reading the kids have done! We hope you have enjoyed the many books your child has brought home to read with you. 😊 As we begin to wrap up this school year and get ready for summer, we need your help. Please work with your student to locate any Lincoln library books at home and have him/her return them to our library. Students will be receiving overdue notices this week. These will have a picture of the cover of the book to help you look for it and will be printed on yellow paper.

You can also check your student’s media center account.  Here’s a screencast to show you how to see what books are checked out to your student.

Thank you so much for your help! If you have any questions, please reach out to either Mrs. Bacolor or Mrs. Gruchot.
