Lincoln School News for February 8-12, 2021

News for the Week of February 8, 2021

We are a committed to being a community of lifelong learners. Our staff greatly appreciates and values the opportunity to learn and grow together every late start Wednesday, in addition to this Friday. We know that in order to live out our school mission to "Inspire. Innovate. Achieve." we have to continually sharpen our skills through professional development and dialog, affording us the opportunity to modeling our growth mindset for our students. Thank you for this time & enjoy your mid-winter break together.

Count Day

Wednesday is count day! This is an important day for our school in regards to funding. Please do everything you can to limit non-urgent appointments on this day. Of course, if your child is ill or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19, please keep him/her safe at home.

Social-Emotional Check-ins
Ensuring our students feel supported and are ready to learn is essential. That is why our classes practice a social-emotional morning check-in daily. This quick survey provides the classroom teacher insight into his/her students needs so that we can respond accordingly.

Valentine's Day

February 14th is quickly approaching and of course, things this year will be a little different.  It just so happens that the 14th is on a Sunday this year and students do not have school on Friday the 12th or on Monday the 15th.  So, hold off on the candy and packaged valentines, here is the plan...

During the week of February 8 - 11, our Positivity Project (P2) activities will be focused on "Love."  Their definition of love is that you value close relationships with others and being close to people. The character strength of love represents the way we think, feel, and behave towards the people with whom we have close relationships.

Classes will have activities and lessons throughout the week that will take the place of the traditional card exchange.  No need to send anything in from home, we will handle it all in-house.

If you want to look ahead at family activities and connections for that week, remember you can access the P2 for Families at https://posproject.org/p2-for-families/  The password is P2.
