A Little Help...
On Friday, we had about 5 phone calls in the last 30 minutes of the day to change pick up or transportation plans.  In addition, we had about 4-5 adults stop in the office to pick up students early.  Please make any transportation plans before your child comes to school and if there are changes, email them to the teacher AND to Janet Trumbley (jtrumbley@sjschools.org).  The last hour of the day is always very busy in the office.  Please help us by planning ahead and by not picking up early unless absolutely necessary.

On Monday, you will notice that your student is coming home with a permission slip to attend Release Time Bible Classes. I received a few questions about this last year, so I thought I would share the information with all of you. Michigan law permits participation in a released time religious instruction program with written permission from the parent/guardian. The law is one from 1952, but is still in effect today. We send flyers home for activities and other programs that might have student interest and this program falls into that group. If you sign-up, you should be aware that this program takes your child out of school and they will be required to make up any work that they miss. Also, students who ride the shuttle bus will not make it back in time to catch the afternoon shuttle, so those students would need to be picked up from school at the end of the day when this class meets.
