Patricia Polacco to Visit Lincoln School

Thanks to our SJPS Foundation and our elementary school PTO groups, our students will be treated to a wonderful opportunity in early December. Award-winning Michigan author and illustrator, Patricia Polacco, will be visiting each of the elementary schools during the first week of December.

School Visits
· Brown - Monday, December 4th (times to be determined)
· Clarke – Tuesday, December 5th (times to be determined)
· Lincoln – Wednesday, December 6th (times to be determined)

We are so excited to meet Ms. Polacco and learn from her as she shares all of her wonderful experiences, in person, with us!

Book orders will be sent home either at the end of this week or early next week. Books will be ordered through Forever Books and will contain a bookplate from Polacco.

Polacco may do a book signing at Forever Books on Sunday, December 3rd. The details of that are being worked out and we'll let you know if that will take place.

We have a number of her books available in the media center and will share them during library times with Y5-2 grades. Please feel free to come in and check some out to read to your class as well. I'm willing to come in a read one of her stories to your class, too.

I'm told that she will likely refer to The Keeping QuiltMeteorThank You, Mr. Falker, and Chicken Sunday. Her latest book, just released in October, is Remembering Vera.

To learn more about Polacco, check out her website or follow her on Facebook or Twitter. She has a lot of great book chats that you might like to share with your students.

Storyline Online has these two books:
