Student Illness Guidance
Because we are in the "high" transmission level in the county at this time, students exhibiting symptoms which are strong indicators of COVID-19 (temperature over 100.4 or feeling feverish/chills, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose/congestion, muscle or body aches, headaches, fatigue, vomiting and/or diarrhea, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell) must stay home for 10 days, unless a negative COVID-19 test result or a doctor’s note stating the student may return to school is provided to school authorities.

This information, as well as additional guidance, can be located on the COVID-19 Tab on our District website.

Programming the Office Number
Please consider programming our Lincoln School Office phone number (269-926-3701) into your contacts. We have heard from several families that cell phone carriers may be suggesting our number is "spam" and therefore important calls are being sent to voicemail. Thank you for your help with this, contacting you is essential.

This Week's Lunch Menu

9/27/21 – Chicken tenders, steamed broccoli, fruit selection and milk

9/28/21 – Turkey sub, baked chips, carrot sticks, fruit choice and milk

9/29/21 – hot dog, baked beans, Cheez-Its, fruit choice and milk

9/30/21 – pasta with marinara sauce, cheesy bread stick, salad cup, fruit choice and milk

Bear Packs
As a reminder, our school is partnering with First Congregational Church to offer “Bear Packs”, a weekend supply of nutritious meals and snacks for children in need, free of charge. The program runs all school year long and is available to all Lincoln School students, as well as their siblings. It’s our hope that these resources will support the well-being and achievement of every student who is a part of this program.

Enrollment is confidential. Only the school administrators and individual classroom teachers know which children are participating. The Bear Packs will be distributed each week in a discreet and caring manner.

If you would like your child/children to participate in the program, please complete the form below and return to the school office no later than September 29th.

Positivity Project (P2)
We are proud to have joined over 560 schools across the nation who have made the commitment to empower our youth by explicitly teaching and discussing the 24 character strengths during daily class meetings. The family letter linked here will explain more about this partnership. Thank you for taking a look.

We'd love for you to support this movement at home. Click here to access P2's family site, complete with videos and character cards related to each week's character strength. The password is "P2".

Laps for Lincoln - Message from our PTO

 Dear Lincoln Families,

Thank you for your generosity and support for our Laps for Lincoln Fundraiser.  We are looking forward to celebrating with all of you next Friday, October 1st from 5-7pm on the Lincoln playground.  Dinner for the event is now being generously donated and prepared by Chef Nick Geaney.  There will be no charge for dinner, however donations are welcomed.  Dinner is on a first-come first-serve basis so come early and enjoy some incredible food before it's gone!  Feel free to bring picnic blankets or chairs and we can enjoy dinner on the lawn.  We will also have free face painting, desserts, and awards…it’s guaranteed to be a special Lincoln event you won’t want to miss.

We have three more collection days next week and students will continue to earn charms for good behavior.  Here is the online link if you’d like to share with out-of-town family and friends:

https://sjschools.revtrak.net/        (Click "Lincoln Elementary", then "PTO", then "Fundraisers", and then choose from either a business donation or individual donation from left-hand side of screen)

We are also looking for a few volunteers to help our Laps Celebration run smoothly.  Please click on the link below to find out more:

9/20 Back to School Night

Partnering with families to ensure a positive school experience is a top priority for our staff. We look forward to beginning this partnership on the evening of September 20th during our Back to School Night event. Important information will be presented by your child's teacher, setting him/her up for success this school year. This adult-only event is for parents/guardians of first-fifth graders. At this meeting, you will receive details on curriculum, classroom expectations and schedules, field trips etc... Please see the schedule below for session times.

1st through 3 grade: 6:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m.
 4th & 5th grade: 5:00 p.m. - 5:45 p.m.

If you have multiple children and they happen to overlap, try to have 2 adults present and split.  We will also be able to provide information after, but nothing is the same as being there!

Please note that parking may be a challenge. We suggest that you carpool or walk, if that is an option for you. Feel free to use any parking lot around the school. All of our entry doors will be open that evening.

Arrival and Dismissal Routines
We want to thank you for your patience with transportation and drop-off/pick-up routines this past week. As we work to teach procedures and travel around construction, traffic hasn't been moving as quickly as it typically does.  We are confident things will be more efficient this week with a few reminders and additional practice.  As a reminder, here is the map:

Lunch Menu for the Week of September 13th
We would like to remind everyone that breakfast and lunch are FREE again this year to every St. Joseph Public School student. Please try to remember to pre-order your student’s lunches when they are going to participate in lunch. This helps speed up the morning lunch count process. You will be allowed to order the Friday before the next week using www.sendmoneytoschool.com.
Due to the supply chain issues we are having with our vendors and food outages we will be providing a one week menu on our website and Principal blogs before the next week. This will alleviate us having to make constant changes to a monthly menu and keep you better informed.

9/13/21 – Chicken patty sandwich, sweet potato tots, fruit choice and milk

9/14/21 – Mini pancakes, vegetable choice, sausage patty, fruit choice and milk

9/15/21 – Cheese pizza, corn, fruit choice and milk
