HealthWorks for 4th and 5th Graders:
The St. Joseph Public Schools Board of Education has established a program of instruction, which includes HIV/AIDS and other serious communicable disease prevention education and sexuality education.  An outline for the units of study to be used in 4th & 5th grades will be available for your review at the Parent Informational Meeting mentioned below and may also be checked out from our building office as well.
According to Michigan Law, you have the right to review the materials and curriculum content to be used in the family life and reproductive health curriculum which includes serious communicable diseases such as HIV.  The local board of education, in compliance with the statute, has made the materials and curriculum guides available for your review. If you wish to review the materials or curriculum content, please attend the scheduled Parent Informational Meeting on Thursday, February 21st at Lincoln School from 6:00-7:00 pm in the Media Center. Lincoln's 4th Grade is scheduled for their HealthWorks presentation on May 29th. Lincoln's 5th Grade is scheduled for their HealthWorks presentation on May 24th.

SchoolStore.Com
Booklets containing 11 postcards will be going home with students on Monday for our Schoolstore.com on-line shopping spring promotion.  If your child is in Y5 - 3rd grade and returns the packet he/she will receive a squishy Zoo animal.  If you child is in 4th or 5th grade he/she will receive a light-up pen.  Participation is completely optional.  This is our 2nd year Lincoln School has participated in the Schoolstore.com program, and it has been extremely successful.  Our fall promotion generated over $650.00 for Lincoln School to use toward fun events/activities for our students.  It has also generated over $7600 worth of gift cards for teachers to use to buy supplies and items for their classrooms through the caring for classroom program.  A BIG THANK YOU from Lincoln School to all who have supported the program this year.

Following is a link to the promotional video the students will be seeing on Monday.  Y5 - 3rd grade students should click on the Squishy Zoo Animal Video and 4th and 5th graders should click on the Light-Up Pen Video

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences in February and March are scheduled for select students. Teachers will be scheduling conferences for students who are at-risk of not meeting year-end learning targets and for those who are experiencing social or emotional difficulties. Parents or guardians may also request a conference.
