Announcements
Teacher Appreciation Week
This week we honor our amazingly dedicated and hard-working staff with words of appreciation and kindness. We are so grateful for all of the countless hours they spend to enrich the lives of our children. I know that teachers enjoy a "Thank You" now and then; feel free to send an email of appreciation this week!
Come to the PTO Brainstorming Mixer
The next PTO volunteer mixer is this week! Parents are invited to come and meet new people and help generate ideas for student activities. We hope to see you on Thursday, May 10, 6:30pm at LakeHouse Restaurant. "Laps for Lincoln" will be the topic.
End of Day Planning
Please take time to plan out the end of your child's day before they come to school. This past Friday, I overheard Mrs. Eichberg field over 10 phone calls in the last 15 minutes of the day with instructions for kids for after school. This was in addition to the 3-4 kids that came into the office not knowing what they were supposed to do after school. Please help us by having these plans set ahead of time.
2018 Ren Baldwin Student Technology Festival
The 2018 Ren Baldwin Student Technology Festival will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018, in the SJHS Student Center. This free family event runs from 6:00-7:30 p.m., with awards and door prize giveaways beginning at 7 p.m. The festival will include hundreds of student projects, robotics, digital citizenship activities, a scavenger hunt, and more! Come see the amazing technology work being done in St. Joseph Public Schools.
Planning is underway for the 2018-19 school year!
If you and your family are planning to move over the summer and will not be returning to our school, please let us know as soon as possible.
Student Placement
We try to use our best professional judgment to create balanced classes. We consider the following factors when making class lists:
- An even distribution of students according to ability
- A fair balance of boys and girls in a classroom
- A fair distribution of students who demand more care and attention from teacher
- The mixture of students’ personalities and best “fit” as a class.
Parents may submit written information for staff to consider for student placement to Mr. Hubble. Specific requests for teachers are not accepted.
Kindergarten Screening & Registration
Kindergarten screening is June 12 & 13 at Lincoln Elementary School. To ensure your child has an appointment scheduled, please turn in your registration form at the school office no later than June 1st. Supporting documentation (ie: proof of residency, immunization records, birth certificate, etc) may be turned in at screening.
