Inclement Weather & School Cancellation Announcements
In the event of inclement weather, announcements regarding school closures and delays will be made via School Messenger and posted with local news outlets. Please be sure we have your most up-to-date phone numbers and email addresses on file in the school office. Two hour delays work very similarly to our late start days, just one hour later. School would begin at 10:25 a.m. - buses would run two hours later than normal.

Announcements
Well, Welcome Winter!!!   Just a reminder that students will need boots and snow pants to play off of the back top or equipment area on the playground.  If you are having trouble getting these items, please let me know.  I would be happy to help.  We do go outside if the temperature if above 9℉ including windchill.  Please make sure students are dressed for the weather AND label everything.

Extended Learning Opportunities

Extended learning opportunities are planned throughout the day to support students’ academic, social and emotional growth. These experiences are offered to students based on teacher recommendation and may be facilitated by other teachers, our learning support team members (Title 1 or Learning + Team) or our school social worker, Mrs. Colette Jasiak.  If you would prefer that your child not participate in these types of experiences, please contact the building principal.

Released Time Bible Class
Released Time Bible Class is based on a Michigan law that requires public schools to release children, who have written parental permission, to attend religious instruction classes at a nearby location.  RBM Ministries is hosting these release times for the 2017-2018 school year and will hold classes at Oakridge Baptist Church on January 18, February 5, March 5 and April 9 from 10:00-11:15am.  If you are intersted in having your child attend, please have them pick up a permission slip in the office.

Dressing for the Weather

Winter weather is upon us.  Please be sure to send your children dressed for the chilly morning temperatures and please label all coats, hats, gloves, and boots as our lost and found is already growing with winter gear. Remember that students are expected to be prepared for the elements so that they can fully participate in all three recesses and wait outdoors comfortably and the beginning and end of the day.

Holiday Happenings at Lincoln School

Our annual Pancake Breakfast will be on Saturday the 9th form 8:00-11:00. There will crafts available for the kids and the Book Fair will be open in the Media Center. We hope to see you there.

Holiday Concert
All 2nd-5th grade students will be traveling to the high school on the morning of December 21st to view a Holiday Concert courtesy of our SJHS Band, Orchestra, and Choir.  This annual event is such a treat to our elementary students. Younger students will be able to Live Stream the concery in their classrooms.

Classroom holiday parties will be scheduled by your classroom teacher.
